Uses
The Sony Psp has been out now for over three years and hackers continue to make emulators and hacks. Just resently I bought a 3.40 OE-A firmware Psp. OE stands for open edition. It is a custom firmware which turns your psp into a homebrew, emulator, Windows Vista and Windows XP powerhouse. But it can do far more than that.
Some people use psps as they were intended to be used: movies, play games, listen to music, and other multimedia files. But other people use psps to play wii or gamecube using the Location Free Player, or do everything you can think of. When I get the Psp in the mail I will write about it.
I’ve had some time to use the new PSP and I am able copy the data off of a UMD onto a computer and then copy it to the memory stick so I don’t need the UMD anymore. I can change the font and the icons in the menu to anything I want. A website to find some hacks is here. I can also stream off of anything that is in the same network. When the new PSP comes out in the fall, I hope Sony doesn’t use another different motherboard so I can’t downgrade or hack it.
